What happens when you add more categories, such as "mass shootings", to statistical analysis? You get a shifting of the rates. Ask yourself have they changed what qualifies as murder for the purpose of the statistic, are there new categories that would have previously been labeled as a murder, has a major outlier event shifted the death statistic?Also post your source on that 50% or no one will believe you.

When speaking to them, make it clear you are speaking to them as their roommate not as their friend, and this conversation does not change your friendship. Then draw your boundaries. List them in order of things that need to immediately change to one's that need to change in two weeks then by the end of the month. Make it clear that if things don't change you will have to evict them.
