It's not unusual, these myths have lots of variations and one or two takes on it will inevitably supplant all others, typically because the other versions came from older or smaller civilizations that eventually collapse or get absorbed into another. Ex. in the Orphic "Rhapsodic Theogony" Persephone is a daughter of Zeus & Rhea, who is born so deformed that Rhea fled from and abandoned her; rather than being some so bewitchingly beautiful she was flooded with suitors trying to court her

He says in interviews “If they breach that door, we’re going to engage them really quick and that engagement would be whatever it took to stop them,” “And I know I was prepared.” Meanwhile we all saw he was actually doing and how he actually looked. Yeah it's pretty clear why O'Brian was giving him sass on Twitter for his pretend tough guy act...

Is Hulkan O'Brien more or less cursed than the Gundam Mk II Conan Type?

Aren't we still wondering where the body of the last guy who pissed them off disappeared to?

Correct me if I am remembering wrong, but aren't we still asking where the body of the last guy who pissed off the teamsters went?

For what it's worth, the hard right ammosexuals severely underestimate how armed their undesirables are, they more or less function on the belief moderates and liberals are all flower-power softies incapable of fighting back. They're roughly as armed and capable, if not moreso due to raw numbers of bodies, they just don't make it their sole personality and don't need to wave their guns around in every interaction

I wouldn't say he's underrated because he's maintained his popularity since his initial fame in the 80s even without the memes. He still tours globally to very good turnout and he still commands name recognition in UK homeland. If anything the memes forget he isn't a burned out one-hit wonder (something he avoided being in general really)

I'm gonna give that 3 Mark Ruffalos!

Since there is no mention of his accomplices beyond they existed, and they're not being indicted as well, as least as this has been reported, let's just assume they've gotten off without even a stern talking to. As the pigs are wont to do

Look up the "Christmas For Kentucky" campaign for the context and greater detail. It's the result of very clever advertising and capitalizing on new, culturally blank opportunities- the campaign launched in 1974, KFC first opened stores there in 1970, Japan was only just starting to celebrate secular Christmas festivities in the 60's, etc. The idea was, according to KFC Japan, first inspired by expats lamenting they couldn't find turkey & had to make do with fried chicken.

The Christmas For Kentucky campaign was just THAT successful; since it's run in 1974, it basically permanently redefined what an entire nation perceives as the default Christmas holiday dinner, which it really only had just started to celebrate mid-late in the prior decade anyway. So many little things adding up to its success that it's taught in any basic Marketing 101 class; a kind of the ultimate example of advertising

That poor film was ill-fated from the greenlight- The Eternals was at its core just Jack Kirby repackaging his 4th World but worse & the moment DC cancelled their 4th World movie there was no reason for Eternals to have one. Even the serials have never had a clue what to do with them- rebranding Thanos & the other Titans like Starfox & Mentor to being Eternals did nothing to boost their appeal & they constantly overlap with the X-men & Inhumans, who're already redundant with each other...

Except for now, when they invoke stare decisis while overturning 50 year precedent

A little context is I'm a certified public accountant, my license requires I study this crap for double the hours that a doctor has to in order to be declared fit to not kill people in the OR. I deal with IRS agents all the time, most have no qualms admitting they don't have the resources to audit millionaire tax cheats, who can lawyer up and outlast their budget with ease. When the GOP call for defunding the IRS, it's to maintain this & ensure low income households are only practical targets

It's a very small victory but also a start they have fiercely fought for decades to prevent.

Comparatively little yes but this is coming from classes of people who can earn millions while still claiming tax credits meant for low income families because they by various loopholes don't actually earn enough income. It's a drop in the bucket of their fair share, but it's a start that they have fiercely fought against (ie buy off congressmen) for decades

That does tend to be how they're written, not that they have any writer who actually cares about writing them though- but naivety is their thing. The Tau's whole schtick is how absurdly adaptable they are in a setting where almost everyone else is locked in some rigid and completely inflexible system that while sustaining them is also driving them to stagnation. They begin thinking a Titan is just a myth, then see 1 & learn there's way more than 1, so they beeline "we need bigger mech suits"

There is enough potential variety to expand them into a something more than just a very weak and disposable swarm unit too but that would demand GW make new models for and actually do things for xeno players

Additionally this is just a gag for the comic's punchline as in-lore the Kroot don't eat Tau as a gesture of good faith toward their allegiance and life debt to them; they also don't eat chaos worshiping humans and tyranid...the evolutionary results are quite bad.

Which loops back to the popular Israeli rhetoric of 'collective responsibility' that justifies their constant attacking of civilians, but look how quick we try to pass the buck solely to Bibi if we were to apply the same logic to Israeli society, I've had my Jew card revoked by my community more than a few times for arguing this.

Even with his public opinion in the toilet, what he stands for here is a very popular position- they'll blame Bibi but won't tolerate anyone calling for reconciliation, last one who tried was killed by his own people.

Roof Knocking is a pretty widely condemned tactic too, mostly only the US and Israel do it, acting like it's a free pass to target civilians object rather than admission they know it's not a military target. Meanwhile Palestinians are reluctant to even comply with the evacuation orders from their attackers anyway since the IDF has a habit of subsequently targeting, sometimes bombing, the locations they tell civvies to head to- forcing refugees into an endless cycle of relocations at gunpoint

If that IS their plan then they don't even understand what appeals are because none of these circumstances are reversible procedural errors- appeals are not "I don't like results so I want a do-over". Then again, they also don't seem to know you won't win a bench trial by constantly attacking the judge and their staff when they're the sole ruling authority in your case.

No it's already figured out and obvious because his bill targets publicly traded corporations. The headlines keep spinning it as him supporting overturning the Citizens United decision but CU is a Not-For-Profit and thus not impacted by his bill- the bulk of what the CU ruling enabled is not changing under Hawley's bill, it's just trying to kneecap big brands that donate against conservatives.

It doesn't ban that, his bill targets publicly traded corporations but not privately held ones. It is just aimed at taking out big corps that donate against them while protecting what the Citizens United decision stood for.
