Germany =/= USA when it comes to a lot of things but especially not when it comes to ID's. like the Netherlands, we are required by law to have an ID which is a blanket ID for everything. In the USA there are no such forced id's and even a bankstatement is considered some kind of ID for a lot of things. The ID's, like a passport, that CAN be used for voting aren't common and are very expensive+ timeconsuming to obtain plus they've ordered a stop to new applications for passports in some places.
I did and I'm not even from murica. 0800-1600 IT job, go home, powernap, 1800-0400 security surveillance, go home, shower, "sleep", rinse and repeat. Took a lot of willpower most days and no real days off or weekends. Had my PTO or how you would call it payed out in money instead of taking them off. Hard struggle to keep going for those years and those weren't even hard labour jobs. For me it was by choice, I can't imagine being forced to do that simply to be able to afford the cost of living.
Bezos needs it desperately. I mean, it looked like he lost some weight, and that's a clear sign of someone not being able to afford his food. Also, he was unable to buy a 3rd yacht, so desperate times.
