What dog doesn't love flames, enormous heights and loud noises?

The dog is just really uncomfortable. That is a very stressed dog. Great way to get your face bitten, which is how I was expecting it to end

Springer Spaniels are a hunting dog...

In a year i broke 3 bones (seperate ocassions). In the US that would have cost me tens of thousands. In canada? Couple hundred in parking.

i had a shetland sheepdog that did this

Sorry to hear that. EPM is awful.

They also carry a devestating neurological disease for horses in their urine... not great.

I live here. Violent crime is drastically down in the last decade. Still, I am deeply saddened that this horrific act happened.

Work in the horse industry as well as with dogs, can confirm.

Not really. Littermate syndrome basically causes dogs to ignore humans and lose their mind when alone. Cats don't listen to us anyway.

Raising puppies with their littermates isn't a great idea. See: littermate syndrome

My theory is you train dogs to do what you want, not discipline them for doing what comes naturally. if the dog messes up, it's your failure

There is no need to scold them. Yelping is enough to make them break usually. Source: I teach puppy classes using no aversive methods

+1 for the Hammer

Recalls are tough, but important. The key is consistency and setting your dog up for success. Maybe I'll make a few training posts.

In general you teach the behaviour and once the dog is performing it reliably, then you add the verbal command.

Viszlas are wonderful. You can go wild with tricks (have them take your socks off) or focus on the basics like recalls. Sky is the limit!

Send me a PM, I may be able to suggest something.

Most dogs understand hand / body gestures better than words. it's the humans that prefer the words. Source: Dog Trainer

they are good natured. The ones that don't take it end up going postal. Source: I'm a dog trainer, no domination or alpha rolls needed.

works. But so does balanced or positive training. There is a reason why Milan gets bitten. Most dogs will take you bullying them because (c)

The Alpha theory he bases his training on has been disproven. It was based on a flawed study. Yes, bullying your dog into submission (c)

That is magical.

She was looking intently at cookies. :P

She was staring intently at the copious amount of cookies she got for putting up with this. No dogs were harmed in the making of this photo

As a horse owner, this app literally terrifies me. Literally.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's been in the fridge for a bit, hence why the dog got it.

As the owner of a Springer Spaniel: Accurate.
