Disaster first responder, backpacker, community prepper.
I see. Is it normal for people to curate another person's instagram? Or is that just am Imgur thing? I feel a bit like Im behind the counter of a fast food restaurant of my own account here. ๐
It sounds like a very frustrating experience. I was onky able to post one picture per comment, unfortunately. So after the first, the rest are nested in further replies to myself under that first image I posted to you. :)
uh...๐ howdy stranger. Im sorry your phone and/or ISP do not like imgur videos. My phone hasnt had the same difficulties. The video was more for visual example, rather than informational. However, I invite you to view the photos instead. Since you requested.

Holy shit, that's awesome! ๐คฉ
Thanks! It was a lot of fun. Especially coming up with workarounds for the missing sandpaper.
person's first ever seizure, regardless of seizure type etc. In other words, it's treated as a time sensitove emergency. Whereas, if there is a history of seizure and patient assessment does not indicate an emergency, fast evac is not necessary.HSI Wilderness First Aid, 2018, 8th edition. So, I would agree with you. At your level of training (Basic First Aid), calling an ambulance is prudent. At least according to the HSI curriculum in the US. :)
Do you mind if I ask which curriculum and country? Im in the US. The 2021 HSI Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED textbook doesnt specify a first seizure. But just that if someone is having a seizure and is unresponsive, to activate emergency medical services. HSI's Wilderness First Aid curriculum offers a bit more nuance on types of seizures, and whether it is someone with a history of seizures, vs a first time seizure. Evacuation is recommended regardless. But a fast evacuation is recommended for a
In case someone reading who has never had a seizure before, has even a very small seizure: a person's first seizure, regardless of severity, warrants a hospital visit. This is to check if the seizure was caused by something that needs immediate emergency intervention, like a blood clot. A trip to the hospital for a seizure should always be followed by an appointment with a neurologist.

Solid advice.
Scenario practice.
Bread, cookies, ink (or dye?). Some people collect the starch. Ive only processed acorns once before. Went for a walk this evening and found more. Maybe Ill try my hand at bread this time. Image description: Green grocery bag holding several pounds of acorns
Me too. Ughhhh. Heads up if you ever go to Yosemite National Park, in the US. Gorgeous place. But aweful mosquitos and biting flies. They completely ignored the fact that my friend and I were using misquito repellant. Ive heard the same from a good number of PCT thru-hikers as well. Next time I go back, Ill be in pants, long sleeves, gloves, and a mosquito headnet. ๐
Certainly easier than several of the tents Ive put up. My two smaller tarp shelters, on the other hand, make me want to give them to the burn barrel lol. They are such a pain in the ass. But, I havent gotten to take them out more than twice since I got them though. Hoping they'll get easier with practice.
Indeed, they do. A few, but otherwise not many of the bugs I grew up with bother me. On this trip, the picaridin kept the moquitos at bay. If you look, I pitched the walls off the ground for ventillation on that trip, and the one flap is open. But the walls can be pitched flush with the ground. And I can close that last flap if need be. In lime disease territory, Id either bring a tent or use permethrin. But, bugs are good for the planet. So, I mostly avoid camping in those locations.
Yes. I referred to it as a pyramid tarp shelter. Did I accidentally call it a tent somewhere? ๐ I use tarps and tents. So I could totes believe I did that. The insert would essentially make this shelter into a double-walled tent. But yeah, like this, it's a tarp shelter.
I was showing my gf the supplies I used to make it when I took these. Im not affiliated with any brands. The brands I used dont matter. The waterbottle was just photobombing by accident. ๐ ๐คฆ๐ป
Weekend wasnt as bad as the 20hrs of medic training I had to do wearing a splint. ๐ซ I got pretty good at writing notes my left hand at least!
