often didn't lived close to their workplaces (unmarried), and the fact they had access to spices- pepper. So they became peppergrooms /maids
tradition of giving 30 year old unmarried pepper. "Pepper maid/ Grooms" is a thing that goes back too the 1500s. As the spice traders [2]
Why? you may ask. Because Danes are a bit impatient when it comes to "messing" with their friends. This is a variety of the old [1]
