Absolutely true. I have a hardware monitor on my android. It used to use about 1.3 gb of ram out of 3. Now it stays at 2 out of 3. The functionality of my phone hasn't changed at all, I haven't added any new apps in the background. I even tried to kill a dozen apps. They just come back up.

I don't think I've ever met someone who bought something because it was in an ad.

There is no such thing as an ethical billionaire. You can luck your way into being a millionaire, you literally can't reach 1 bil+ without repeatedly screwing other people over. Tax them.

Huh this is the first time I've seen a source for that quote. Cool!

It's the kind of question it kind of has trouble with. Sort of like the Strawberry thing. Running counts or logic it'll just find something like "Oh distance is short, try walking!" without thinking of the specific context.

I just realized something else. This might also be illegal. An Interviewer doesn't have the right to your personal AI usage and it might be covered under data protection laws. Similar to asking someone to unlock their phone and show private messages. AI Based behavioral analysis is notoriously unreliable AND might trigger discrimination based laws. If true, this employer is just opening themselves up to all kinds of potential legal trouble.

Yeah I have that feature turned off since I don't really need it to reference past conversations for my inane questions and it's negatively affected output for me before. It's possible it's true but then the blame shifts on how dumb the interviewers are.

It can't come soon enough. My computer is reaching its limit and I NEED new hardware. I had planned to replace it sometime this year, but then this happened.

#49 Surprisingly good advice. When someone is having a panic attack asking them a baffling question can sometimes ground them. It stops the spiral and gets them thinking about the question.

#15 I mean people were calling things fake long before AI. Instead of people throwing puppies in water and saving them they just generate something similar. It's just all about engagement.

I saw a video where one tried to pull the trigger but the safety was on. They 100% don't know and don't care. I'm pretty sure it was one of those pepper guns but still you don't shove it in someone's face.

I do remember reading a study once where people who were non-offending had a less risk of committing sexual abuse when provided with material. But like someone else said the LLMs would have to have CP in order to make 'appropriate' material. It's possible, but just as likely to cause someone to want to experience it for real. (My memory's a bit spotty, I just remember reading it. I don't remember the details except it was a European study.)

#36 For context Apocalypse is talking about humans not being worthy. He's basically liking humans to peasants that just want to seek power greedily once they taste it and the next panel has Mr. Sinister suggest just killing all the humans. Quoting the guy that wants to kill all the humans and establish himself as a god probably isn't the best idea.

That'd be the idea. In this case eliminating the queen is far more valuable because the Black Queen will mate in the next turn unless you threaten a check. From there you'll have to just make slow progress with your other pawns and try to promote them without losing both. It's probably one of those games that will keep going for another 50 turns before someone wins lol.

This is just sort of a skimming view of the law but I think it goes like this: They'd review the prompt to see if the person knowingly intended to make illegal content. If accident, they'll go after the people running the GenAI since they have a duty of care to ensure that it's not possible for it to be generated on their platform. Section 230 MAY protect them to some degree but it's not a guarantee.

#33 I think the ghost would be way more confused at the concept of what the heck socialism is and wondering what she's referring to as minorities. Might have to give him a lesson first before he can be properly horrified.

Kidney failure is so painful to watch in cats. Mine died a few months back from similar. They'll always be remembered in our hearts. She looks like such a sweet cat and you were blessed to have her.

ZeroEyes being the only competitor and refusing to release even loose statistics smells. I have my doubts it works, or even if it's really meant to 'protect children'.

You know this is the only song from Eurythmics I know of. What other of their songs are great?

I thought it was some kind of chastity/denial thing. Or did it just get co-opted by that group?

Honestly the big problem is the sheer misuse and them forcing it into things that don't need it. Like, using it as an elaborate search Engine or to get a quick primer on a topic so you know what to look for are fine uses as long as you vet the information you get. It's no different than using Wikipedia at that point. But they want it used to generate code, do calculations, and all these other things that it's rather poor at by the nature of how LLMs are made and it won't work.

Yeah Zatsuza from Daifukkatsu might have one of the most ridiculous final bullet patterns in all of SHMUPs.

#31 This one made me curious and I had to do a little bit of research if that was actually illegal. Apparently it's considered a breach of contract, but not exactly criminal. I doubt Harvard considered the 100$ fee to be worth the hassle so they probably wrote it off. I'm no lawyer and this was just lightly researched, but it's still funny.

I have a lot of nightmares and I don't want to hurt them or cause them to hurt me.

I seem to recall reading once that there was also supposed to be a third season but it got canceled again so they had to wrap it up. It would have been really interesting to see what the original second season would have been though.

It makes some degree of sense knowing how LLMs work and that they're REALLY bad at comparing and ongoing counting.
