It might not be INTENTIONAL, but a lack of intent doesn't change that it is still abuse.
Neglect is still a form of animal maltreatment. It's managed by the same departments and everything, even for humans
It also doesn't mean that we need trigger-happy nurses and doctors in the field who are willing to call the cops at the drop of a hat.
Comes with the job. I'm a hospice social worker, terminal agitation is real and dangerous. Doesn't mean patients don't also have rights.

This is most likely not how a lot of people intend it when they mention someone's LGBTQ+ identity, but that is how it can be perceived.
Separate from my other thread, the overall culture is heteronormative, so I take it as pointing out how someone is diverging from that norm.
Uplift the value of that person's identity as a universally good thing, and they actually make the effort to make LGBTQ+ lives better 3/3
As a form of exploitation and getting brownie points without actually fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, while an LGBTQ+ outlet mentions it to 2/3
I think that each queer person may have a diff view on this, but for me it's bc mainstream outlets typically mention LGBTQ+ identities 1/2
Because one is a site with a reputation of LGBTQ+ support, and one is a news network with a reputation of bigotry
