Social worker, leftist. Mental health matters. Send wholesome memes if you're feeling generous.

I could be wrong, but I *believe* this is an early World of Warcraft pigeon. Nice memories from when it was still a good game :)

Not necessarily. I've known plenty of teachers who are absolute shit and don't give a damn about a kid being abused

Grief is odd. A unique odd for each and every one of us. Sometimes the timeline is longer, or shorter. But the journey is always complicated

The strings taste bitter. I at least pull the big pieces off

Blame the other cities that failed them, not the homeless people who are just trying to survive.

Yuck. So happy I got sterilized

#13 Archipelago. Pronounced wrong during class in 6th grade and was relentlessly mocked

If anything it might be easier. Maybe more emotional maturity to go around than in your 20s/30s. Either way I wish you luck :)

My dad is in his early fifties and met a very lovely woman who he is marrying soon. You're never "too old" to find love. :)

100%. Surgical sterilization is also healthcare. Reproductive healthcare matters.

#9 I'm also sterilized :D

It might not be INTENTIONAL, but a lack of intent doesn't change that it is still abuse.

Neglect is still a form of animal maltreatment. It's managed by the same departments and everything, even for humans

It also doesn't mean that we need trigger-happy nurses and doctors in the field who are willing to call the cops at the drop of a hat.

Comes with the job. I'm a hospice social worker, terminal agitation is real and dangerous. Doesn't mean patients don't also have rights.

Props for protecting your kiddo's privacy. :)

Okay my dogs do this too, and what is with the poop circles???

This is most likely not how a lot of people intend it when they mention someone's LGBTQ+ identity, but that is how it can be perceived.

Separate from my other thread, the overall culture is heteronormative, so I take it as pointing out how someone is diverging from that norm.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Uplift the value of that person's identity as a universally good thing, and they actually make the effort to make LGBTQ+ lives better 3/3

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a form of exploitation and getting brownie points without actually fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, while an LGBTQ+ outlet mentions it to 2/3

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think that each queer person may have a diff view on this, but for me it's bc mainstream outlets typically mention LGBTQ+ identities 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because one is a site with a reputation of LGBTQ+ support, and one is a news network with a reputation of bigotry

100% agree but would also be worried about shithole parents intimidating their kids into voting the same way they do :/

standards of what a panic attack "should" look like. I'm proud of you for getting through it ? 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Panic attacks can have so many different symptoms depending on the person. You are absolutely valid even if you don't conform to their 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Friendly neighborhood social worker popping in to say, I am so extremely proud of you! You used the tools and took back your power ?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good on you. It's not always easy to make life changes like that just for our ideals, especially when $ is on the line. Wish you the best:)

Yup. Been on birth control since I was 14 because my periods would literally incapacitate me for several days out of the month.
