Next time it’ll be a light cake and I’m going to make the ganache match the outside jam ??

Lol thank you :) If you make the cake, share it out! I’d love to see it

Thank you! I definitely want to make more of these in the future, loads of fun :)

…and calling it good. I will say though, the people that get the buttercream ocean waves on the sides of cakes are friggin amazing!

I could see how you got there, but i disagree. I’ve seen some terrible cake design with fondant. It’s not as easy as slapping some of it on

I was cringing as I cut it lol

Lol glad I could help :)

Started eating on it last night, cake was moist, ganache hit just right and the fondant was good :)

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah that was not really planned out, i was mostly concerned about the outside. Next time though ??

Honestly yeah. Every time i make the stuff i keep a little bit left over so i can pull it apart and eat it :)

Lol i appreciate that :) I’ve been eyeballing some of the Simpsons gifs and have started to wonder if a cake could be made like that

A lot of store bought fondant is like that. Marshmallow fondant on the other hand can be really good and tasty ??

If I’d planned that far ahead that could have been really cool :)

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sadly I didn’t plan that far ahead :) I just started making the cake and said I’d figure it out from there lol

Lol I appreciate it. Definitely not a good graphic designer though :)

Thank you :) And yeah mm fondant can be trickier to work with but when it’s being made, you can make it a bit thicker so it’s forms easier

Try homemade marshmallow fondant, it’ll change your perspective ??

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don’t have that piping skill yet :)

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I decided to go with fondant because the lines would be a consistent thickness as opposed to piping frost which could bead :)

I make my own buttercream as well and as far as the fondant goes, if you make it from marshmallows, it tastes amazing :)

Total lie :)

Thank you! I know a lot of people don’t like fondant but I find it incredibly fun to use :)

Marshmallow fondant is the way to go lol

When I get off work I’ll post a picture of it cut :)
