Modern homes are built with a "sub floor" usually some type of sheathing these days, would have been planks decades ago, and non-existant 100 years ago. The subfloor spans the joists and bears all the weight above. The finished floor (which looks nice but is not structural) will be fastened to the sub floor.

Well I'll give you that, but ignoring small fixable problems because there is a bigger issue at hand, literally doesn't fix anything.
Banning attention seekers from filming in the gym (this goes for men and women) is an easy to fix. What your proposing is to change human culture entitely, that takes decades of work, and shit like this doesn't help solve that problem.
Protests in Europe are much more entertaining to watch than in north America, our police would just tell you to disperse before letting go the non-lethals fly. Good old fashion melee.
Subscription fees, and paid expansions are as old as MMOs themselves, which got considerably shitter with the introduction of micro transactions and freemium content.
Blaming people who not only had no idea it was going on, but also no control to change things.... because they were children.... only makes reconcilliation more difficult.
