Yeah. Blank firing adapters block most or all of the gas from leaving the barrel. Since theres no projectile to build up the gas pressure, it allows the weapon to cycle.
Not the only point. but it puts the bottom at a better height for the top without anyones knees complaining. None of us are getting any younger here.
