Belgian living in Norway.
Belgium is supposed to play a friendly game of football in preparation of the WC, vs the US, in the US.3-4 players have already informed the trainer they’re not going for a friendly, not-contractually-obliged game. Reasons given are small injuries and «rather train with my team in EU» but it’s fairly obvious if you ask me…

Exactly. I’ve been having some good, long talks with my teens about the state of things and I’ve made one point very clear: we don’t hate America, we hate fascists. The people that live there are (mostly) like us, it’s the regime we’re against.

Seeing all this go down from across the pond (Norway), I’m afraid this is pretty spot on. An end to this through simple elections and handover of power seems like a naive idea right now. Best case you keep this crisis internal (but it will be a crisis), worst case we get WW3 (Thanks! I hate it.).

Yea the second I read «assault» I instantly thought «sure, in the US». In the EU this wouldn’t even make it to trial if the driver tried to sue the motorcyclist. A fine for the motorcyclist perhaps, but the police would gladly fine the driver even more or even revoke his driving license. Assault? Hardly relevant in this case.
