Off the bat, I'm and INTJ. Backgrond In quality and process improvement. I have a very literal rational thinking brain. Everything I do, I break down into a series of smaller steps to be completed. This has made me rise very quickly in my field of work. I'm also a self proclaimed perfectionist in the work that I do. This means I let myself down constantly but what i produce is generally regarded as top tier within the work place. My personal belief is that everything can be improved. I have an addictive personality, so I get lost in new interests with a passion " better described as obsession" that burns hot and fast. with the logical rational brain I have and the bg in process improvement, I can often close the initial learning gap in acquiring a new skill, but if I lose access to the ability to continue to improve, for example through lack of better resources, I will lose interest very quickly and will drop a hobby. I'm a Knot tying enthusiast and all of the thrills that come with it excite me. I own about 2 dozen books on knot and rope work. They range from rigging and suspensions to single compendiums of knots. When I say I'm an enthusiast, I mean I get giddy like a young child when seeing extensive rope work, especially involving non traditional mediums. Send pics of your rope work if youd like to share. I competitively shoot, typically coming in the top 1/3 of glock competitions but by no means am I an expert. Avid Salt Water Reef tank keeper, hence the username ( I'm not a pothead from the southwest). I'm in the process of getting out of that hobby in favor of wood / leather / blacksmithing ( #AlecSteele is the inspiration). Getting out of aquarium keeping has more to do with time than anything else. I was recently inspired to take up drawing and it's my newest addiction. I devote about 30 minutes in the evenings during the work week to working on this. my end goal is to recreate a figure drawing I saw on here but to be on a level similar to @elbdms skill. I'm not delusional into thinking I'll attain that easily, but what I've drawn so far I get lots of compliments on even though I'm not satisfied because its not what I wanted it to look like. this is a WIP so I'll keep adding g posts and I draw. It's slow going with what I'm drawing taking upwards of 5 hours to complete, so posts will be infrequent. Send pics of your drawings and more importantly tips on gradient shading as this is where I'm struggling. I'm trying to achieve a realistic look so keep that in mind when submitting.
