Hand tools are the only ones that are lifetime (wrenches, ratchets), NOT drills, mowers, etc.

They all say that. Most of them come back, or they go to a random hardware store with the same warranty, thinking "Lifetime, totally!" lol
You must've gotten a bad store. I just stayed in one spot on black friday (second register), and kept ringing people up. lol!

It does hurt your credit a little bit. The number of inquires determines how long you have to wait before applying for, say, a cap one card.
Also, less hours if you didn't have enough credit card applications in. There were complaints and I remember one quitting on the sales floor
I had one where she actually lied about "Oh, it won't hurt your credit to apply" and she kept dressing slutty to get more applications in.
I can make one tomorrow, probably. :)
From what I heard, he's just interested in making a profit from the locations, not the business itself (Sears, Kmart).
I knew people that quit after only a month, due to managers getting on their case about the credit cards, etc.
