I’d say it helps you think more abstractly in general. One exercise you can do is trying to copy a photo or drawing that is upside down.

A bit of color theory and practice workload do the trick. With cyan, magenta, yellow, black and white you can pretty much create all colors.

You have to stop your brain from thinking of things as their symbols. It happens with practice. Look at a fruit’s detail for example.
