I'm more scared of what happens when the AI is actually as good as or better than professional authors. Most readers will probably still choose to consume work done by humans, but how could they even verify that it was? Will many people just stop reading for pleasure? And what happens when someone realizes an AI has written an absolute masterpiece?

He doesn't care if WaPo loses money. He bought it for a tenth of a percent of his net worth. But now he has control of a big chunk of the MSM, just as Musk bought control of a big chunk of social media, because it gives them the power to influence millions of votes for the politicians in their pocket. Politics in general is just a long-term investment strategy to them.
