I agree that persistence is key to success in any field. However, people like Einstein are exceptional. I'd argue that women face this 1/2
2/2 until I get an A in their class. They always say 'I'm worried this class is too hard for you'. Seems small but adds up over time.
It could be the build-up of a lot of little things though. Every professor I've spoken to has been very skeptical of my abilities 1/2

In my experience, most people are average looking and personality is the real kicker. Also, 2 average parents can have attractive kids.
Personally, I like kind people but I can tell if you're just being nice because you want to date me. There's a huge difference.
