We do routine reminders, but I don't think we do any large scale messages like that, it's a good idea though

:) that's the point, we're already starting to see our experienced pet parents coming in for their refills but we have a lot of owners that haven't tried or considered meds yet. Sometimes you need to ask

I've desensitized my pups to thunderstorms by using ASoftMurmur.com at bedtime, it's helped a lot with our firework anxiety, everyone just piles in bed when the noise starts

Who said anything about putting pets down? I'm recommending sedation to deal with stress. Odds are at least one pet will die/be euthanized due to fireworks related accidents/escapes, I'd like to help people keep their animals home & alive.

Advocate for your pets, or seek new care. It's not fair to expect pets to handle stressful situations that they can't understand. And it's easy for someone to dismiss a problem they aren't dealing with first hand

Agreed

Typically gabapentin or trazodone, but we will throw both at pets with severe anxiety. Definitely speak with your vet if you feel like the dosage is too much/not enough and they can help you adjust

Find another vet/ask for a written script. There's no point to make pets suffer from something they can't understand.

We personally recommend against CBD because it can negatively impact the liver (but so can many other medications). Definitely recommend routine bloodwork if you go this route to make sure you aren't over-stressing the liver

Depends on the pet, the ones with severe anxiety tend to need quite a bit more

Love to hear it, I work at a vet and the long-timers have started to come in for their refills. I worry about the pets we see regularly that are already high stress and undermedicated

Fun fact: female hyenas have pseudo penises

This is because soap is amphiphilic (water & oil loving), cell membranes & some viral membranes are the same, with the the oily bit sandwiched between water loving layers. Soap molecules can then basically spear themselves into the membrane and break them up :)

You can't let anyone make this choice for you, but if the worst happens I beg you to consider organ transplant.

I can do number 5! It sounds like a train on the traintracks, without all the background noise, or like thunder without any interruption 1/2

Female had puppies last year, and was so relieved when they were re-homed. Actually gets a bit aggressive when they visit
