A massive part of the right wing project in Israel was that they learned that giving tax breaks and incentives to move people to the settler lands was the right call. (US republicans would call these "handouts") They realized that capitalism was driving up housing in the original territory, and the best investment they could make was in moving people to settlements. The people would happily take stolen land, and would shift rightward politically to defend why they think they did nothing wrong.
They don't have a right to exist as the genocidal apartheid state that they've been for a long time. The world has an obligation to stop what is happening there, and the biggest obstacle to any kind of justice is the United States that is filled with politicians that are fine with the status quo and will work tirelessly to defend it and attack the opposition. The zionist project is being held up by a superpower that is fading fast under the weight of the capitalist mess it created for the world.
We couldn't stop them from letting an insurrectionist run for presidency again. We couldn't stop enabling and arming a genocide and beating the protesters and labeling them as terrorist supporting antisemites. We're a little screwed up right now/always.
Idaho has a growing problem with nazi groups moving in and getting elected to positions because people don't pay attention to things. If you live there, organizing and putting up postings locally can make a difference. Otherwise, make sure you show up to every election and vote against these freaks.https://www.mercurynews.com/2025/02/25/idaho-town-hall-woman-dragged-out/
Funny how every strike is a pre-emptive or preventative one when it's done by Israel if you listen to them tell it. Maybe Israel could stop bombing all of its neighbors and running an apartheid state. They think their actions shouldn't have consequences because they are a deeply destructive, far right government using an ethnic and religious identity to shield themselves from criticism. It's absurd.
Kamala chose to not pivot on any issue that wasn't working well for her. Her campaign door knockers were told to stop reporting back about feedback from voters about Gaza. They didn't want to do outreach to colleges like they normally would because they brutalized campus protestors for months by that point. The democratic leadership made all the wrong decisions, and continue to, and they have to take responsibility for it. If they can't present a better choice against a fascist, that's on them
It's politics. They refused to run on policies and messaging that the voters wanted. We all have to suffer the consequences. Saying that this stuff is awful republican stuff is nonsense because Democrats complained about Venezuela only through the lens of him not seeking congressional approval. They're doing the same thing now about Iran. They don't care because they agree with this. Don't make people out to be the bad guys because they have principles. Be mad at the dems who have NONE.
2/2 which sucks because we're already on the backfoot against an authoritarian regime and a supreme court that the dems also refuse to reform. It feels pretty helpless as a white man living in an extremely white state. I feel so awful for people that are not given the privileges that I had/have and have no political party to fight for them. They think they can just do the Carville strategy and play dead, fundraising off Orange man bad for the 10th year in a row. It's sickening.
Democratic party voters have been told repeatedly for the last 2 years that the party has screwed up on immigration. The democratic party that I grew up with was pro-immigration, anti-war, and pro-human rights. Now they're a party that has ceded all ground on immigration to republicans, enabled genocide in Palestine, and thinks that they went "too far" with trans issues. The vast majority of the party left me and other progressives years ago. We have to get these losers primaried and rebuild 1/2
Agreed. I'm getting out of here because I think we've both stumbled on some weird ass thread, and I've wasted too much time here already.
I think this story is important, but there's some rampant antisemitism running in these comments and people need to have some introspection about how they are viewing Jewishness, Israel, and our government's ties. Remember that there are plenty of anti zionist jews. Don't forget that America is the one enabling Israel, and while Israel has lobbying power, they're not in control of this relationship. Fuck Israel. Fuck genocide defenders/enablers. Free Palestine from the apartheid and occupation.
Yeah, this is fucking gross, antisemetic shit to be saying the judge is in on a conspiracy with nothing more than a name. If that judge also had Israeli ties that'd be one thing, but you'd still have to prove connections and an actual plot/motivation.
Bringing the Michael Brooks video into this is weird. Solomon being a bad guy doesn't mean that it's some nefarious Israeli plot. The problem should be exactly what is front and center: Why is this guy running an illegal bio lab and has several firearms? Why would a judge let him out on bail? I do think it is valid to critique cable and national news on why they would be going nuts about a muslim man doing something like this, but an Israeli gets silence. Finally, there's no need to vote shame
Counterpoint: The amount of spending has always gone up for police, and it has never resulted in more safety, fewer killings, or more accountability.
It feels like the people who plan the half-time shows are working for a completely different corporation most of the time. In a lot of ways, they probably are.
Well, nearly a year ago, they fired employees who protested their support for Israel's actions. It will always end up coming back home to roost, it just shouldn't be this fast.
Exactly. Why is any other government official available to harass, but these guys are immune because they're pretend "cops"?
A lot of churches have been corrupted by this filth, but definitely not all of them. You may need to leave that church for another, or take a break and worship at home for a couple of years. Easy for me to say, as I'm not religious, but take from it what you will. I would also add that you're supposed to respect your wife and the vows that you made, and he cheated on every wife he had. He's not supposed to worship money, but he has scammed his own voters with crypto rug pulls. They don't care.
This should be the thing that democrats are bringing up, but they're bought and paid for by the same donors. It's hard to have a moral high ground of not renditioning people and extorting an entire country I guess.
According to leaks from her staff after the election, she never had positive polling over Trump. So the refusal to pivot on issues was on her and her campaign. I want the democrats to win because republicans are evil. But running unpopular, uncharismatic, and standard centrist dems who will let the country continue to ratchet to the right is not the solution. Have fun with voting for Newsom or Buttigieg in 2028 while they refuse to offer people any future that is better.
Nah that's BS. I voted for Harris, but I have more solidarity with people who stayed home than people who stump for Harris still. She was stuck in the single digits for nearly all of the 2020 primary. She ran on no issues except elder care (good), giving home buyers free cash (bad. Market is still awful and would just inflate prices more), and that democracy was on the line. Democracy was on the line, but her party didn't take it seriously and thought just like in 2016 she was entitled to win.
No one is obligated to vote for dems that deflected complaints about the economy with out of touch nonsense about how good the stock market is or how the rate of inflation is slowing. Neo-liberal economics have caused such massive wealth inequality that democrats have not been willing to address. They said Biden was still good to go, only for many dems to admit later that they hadn't talked to him in over 6 months. They lied about Gaza and had their anti-war base beaten. Dems failed, not voters
NH is not so much of a blue state, despite often going dem for president. The federal reps and senators that prefer looking "bi-partisan" and taking enormous amounts of AIPAC money over fighting for a better country. The NH state government is overrun by far right anti-abortion, anti-trans, pro-Prager U lunatics who saw DOGE and thought to copy it for themselves.
Importantly: A week after they won basically every election held in November.
It's always class war. They just obfuscate it with divisive culture war BS. Bari Weiss has more in common with Donald Trump than any random lesbian in her own state.
Democrats are blissfully trying to pretend that leaders in their party past and present like Gillibrand and Cuomo weren't just calling Mamdani a terrorist or running AI videos of him destroying NYC. Democrats have a lot of islamaphobia to deal with, a huge Israel problem, and an inability to successfully regulate capitalism that has gotten to the point where people can finance their door dash and bet on anything. Politics is about delivering for constituents and not just being better than nazis.
Looks a little less sad today. Good going, Steve!
16 years before there are consequences for his actions and he still plays victim. Tells you a lot about the problems of capitalism, corruption in government, and the republican cult.
I don't think there's a republican party left after this; they rebranded into the Trump party. I think it's likely that they run Trump Jr or some other snake in that den of a family in order to keep the cult together.
The app was so bad after I tried it that I deleted it within 30 minutes. The website struggles on mobile for me too. It only runs ok on my PC. Performance for a content hosting site is a priority, but not for media lab.
