Stag isn't used in reference to native north American deer species, i.e. whitetail, mule, and blacktail. Only some exotics, like Sika deer.

Stopped reading at "pineapple pizza." Don't lead with your worst quality, eh?

So much so that I've seen it here countless times.

Yikes

Is that figure before or after the environmental cleanup required after dropping a train in a river?

Prepare thyself for unshealthed swords a plenty!

Get some sensodyne, damn.

2/2 conservation but are for sissies who want to kill, not hunt.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree completely. Not to mention all the invasive species that escape from, commercial hunting preserves. They bring in big $ for 1/2

If it charges with the wind, you blind yourself before the impending attack. Usually, it take a direct spray to deter a bear.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends. If the bear is charging into the wind, sometimes a short blast of spray will stop the charge at 50 yards.

Yup, it's definitely a good idea to have a firearm in the bear woods, even if it's a backup plan.

I agree here too. An will definitely kill an animal effectively and quickly, but requires more practice.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 more animals being injured by inexperienced archers.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wrestle with this one too. In a way, bow hunters work harder for their animal and give it a better chance of escaping. That also means 1/2

Damn, it opened Sep 7th in MT. I've already been chasing em!

She is a beauty. 06 is big enough for elk and bear too. Hit me up if you make your way to MT!

And no dead bear or lion, which is good.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also this. But bear spray is 94% effective as compared to an efficacy rate of 81% for handguns, so spray is my go to.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right on, that's good to hear, not only that you're going but you are doing so thoughtfully. Hit me up if you get hooked!

I am not. They're usually only legal for pest species like hogs. I personally don't like them, I think they're way more than citizens need.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But they still better eat it or give the meat to those that will.

I'm actually hunting a weapons restriction area in MT that allows early access for handgun, shotgun, muzzleloader, and archery hunters.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 already passed on their genetics. I think conservation wise, we need both types of hunter.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm torn on that myself. Im definitely part of the former, but trophy hunters kill animals that have lived the longest lives and have 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you! I knew that didn't look right but autocorrect has rendered me useless.

Also, they only bugle when they are rutting in early fall. When they are done banging, its back to the high country and the black woods.

I'm hunting deer in the Madison riverbed this weekend. Then a long hike into the Bob Marshal wilderness to look for elk next weekend.
