Climbed there A LOT a decade ago couldn't shake the feeling I knew the place from the gif. Thanks for helping keep my sanity!
Is this at the cliffs in Valhalla NY? in west chester?
Personally I think I can hear the full range of sound better. Easier for me to pick out specific instruments. Also not having a headache/ringing ears afterward is nice.
Yall getting Healthcare and infrastructure????? What is the blessed country you call home?
The sad thing is with the waning middle class most people regardless of going to occupation end up poor
Don't buy the spin. The student loan repayment timeline is what Biden already said was going to happen. It was going to be June 30th at the latest depending on when the Supreme Court ruled on the case. Sucks that he can't push it any further but it also didnt seem like he wanted to.
General timeline is right but not perfect. Thats what I meant by dont quote me on that not that it's not for next year's budget. Also this is a little bit of both. Biden and the dems are gonna say they didnt negotiate over the debt ceiling it was just budget talks. Repubs will say they only negotiated because of the debt ceiling and pretend that the budget talks would've went differently
It's next year's budget. They normally start these talks at the end of summer I think to be passed in October. But don't quote me on that.
You know who else is? Most young people. It's not hard to see why the youth are disillusioned with government when it hasn't done anything substantial for decades and continues to get older and not change. Take your head out of the sand for 1 second and look around. You can like someone and still think there needs to be substantial generational change, you dolt.
Honestly I dont want Bernie to be president either precisely because of age. Look at the ages of house and senate. There are 34 people in the senate 70+ & 74% born before 1965. The house is 72 members 70+ and about 50% born before '65. Thats why age is a proxy to make room for representation that is more aligned with the country's demographics.
I'm not disagreeing with you just saying why age is used. I also think what you're saying is exaggerated. A fall leading to death at 30 would either be a freak accident or from a height. 80 yos can fall down a few stairs and have severe complications because of fragile bones and longer recovery times. It's a broader issue. People in general power (Pelosi, Schumer, McConnell) not letting the new guard take over. Hard to not say people over x should step down and let the next generation take over
Age tends to be the barometer because so many things can go wrong quickly later in life. One fall/sickness separates us from the VP becoming president. Would rather have some choice in the matter. Also as a lot of others point out the older politicians are the less in touch they are with younger generations. Imagine the average 70+ yo articulately talking about the internet and how we should create legislation to help shape it. Not to mention cost of living, employment, etc
Non profit means they can't pass money to their shareholders. Most colleges are nonprofit and they definitely aren't operating at break even
CNN. PSSSSH. Darksock meant mainstream news networks like imgur and reddit and Facebook obvi
Bold of you to assume she will be anything beyond a footnote in history. Morons have been included throughout history but rarely discussed
I hear you but also biden has been a competent albeit uninspiring leader. Lots of decent legislation to build off of in coming years
Agreed. Sucks that we need to keep backing milquetoast "liberals" over actual progressives. Just need to keep pushing prog policy up
Comment intended in general not directly to you specifically. Better to get in line when the repubs are getting closer to fascism everyday
Yeah don't let perfect be the enemy of good or in this case better
Yeah unfortunately they didn't have Hutchinson's testimony, which while not damning, certainly isn't a great sign. :/
Do it. Start small and build up to national politics
Where do I donate?
Congress is really killing him. He can do a little more through exec action but not a lot more. But agreed I had higher hopes for his term
We did it! We fixed American democracy!
And adding 2 years in the grand scheme of things isn't much more (also equal to 1 term of congress).
I'm more worried that short terms would hinder experience being built. Even adding 2 years allows for 60% to be reelected each period
A 2 term limit in the house is only 4 years and would mean approx 1/2 of the house would be new every 2 years. May work but seems too short.
My parents live 3 hours from a major airport. End up leaving 5 hours before flight in case of hiccups getting there and security.
The reality is these can be hard to prove & prosecute. Should there be those things? Yes. Will it lead to jail? Who knows?
That's the way it has to be. The centrists have a job too, winning conservative areas let safe NY, CA, WA areas create strong progressives
