The problem is, that even if something happens that 1% will use us normal folks to fight each other. The plan would have to be to deal with the 1% only. But with the power of money, anyone can be bought to change their point of view and join the 1% for as long as it suits them. We would have to become uncoruptable, and immune to promisses of their riches.
so what? just because AI tool was used to generate the picture, the human idea is still behind it. How about all the other tools on social media? Like easy vidoe editing, enhancing and all that. Is that also bullshit? AI is a tool ffs... there is still a human behind every of these creations.

When I was a kid, I had to hold a metal rod for a guy that would be smashing it with huge metal hammer. I was so scared. Not only from the hammer hitting the rod which always hit me in the hand hard, but also from the guy that was super mad and upset I am not ok with holding it for him... fun times I guess.
Honestly... using internet sucks today. EVERY site you visit, requires some sort of agreement that you have to check. Ads ABSOLUTELY everywhere. Ever stupid account you make has security level of a nuclear powerplant (strong passwords, generated codes, sent codes to your phone). Like CMON!!!
Hear me out. Too many people have high expenses for nothing. A guy makind good money while working for me kept complayining about low wage. I went with him through his spending to find out he lives in an apartment with no kitchen. So he has to have all food delivered to his place through Bolt and such. Like WTF, move to an apartment with basic equipment. But no, it is my fault for not giving him more. Some level of financial knowledge is crucial.
SO MANY TIMES I had to explains this!!! People would be asking me opinions on stuff and getting mad when I told them I have none since I know nothing about it. Like... everyone says it is good / bad so how the hell do I not just follow the same view???
The "tweet" states that a single generated picture "is slurping up the power grid". And that is a false statement. Based on this logic. I would love to see this applied everywhere. Including giant Neon lights on every single shopping mall. Lets make sure that energy is used only where and when needed. Instead of just blaming krypto and AI for all the energy issues.
I am not sure where this misinformation came from. But trust me, generating 1 image of whatever does not cost as much as you say. I generate hundreds of images locally (on my own computer) every day, and the electricity bills are pretty much the same. It is not the first time I hear this... so just thought I will leave a comment here.
Czech here. This is totally on point. I break 5 matches, before getting the one that lights up... for some reason they don't make the matches as good as they used too... Wonder if it has something to do with moving the factory to India...
This person made a game. The game is interesting and has a nice concept. I don't see a problem in letting others know it exists. How is this different from showing pictures of art somebody made and sells? Like paintings or crafted objects? Technically they also advertize their stuff. So... yeah, if it was a big Game studio showing up an ad that cost milion dollars, fine... but this is harmless.
I am really sorry to hear that :(. Frankly, was in a similar position, where I had a huge crush on one of my best friends. I kept wondering why she has no boyfriend for so long. So it kind of made an impression that she might be waiting for my move. BUT luckily I did not make move and after many years she introduced me to her girlfriend at a party. Honestly, I think you did not do anything wrong. She could have seen it coming, and be prepared for such a scenario. Cutting you off is overreaction.
Of course. But you can't blame normal citizens, that sort the trash for recycling and pay the tax + waste fees.
The point is, that there are taxes and fees people pay exactly for the purpose of dealing with trash in an ecological way. If a company claims, they deal with trash and take the tax money, they are supposed to use it to deal with the trash in a defined way. If they just send it to Asia and cash out, that is straightforward theft and the company should be shut down.
In this case, they should track down the company that is responsible and shut it down. The company is paid to deal with the trash by set standards. Just sending it elsewhere instead dealing with it properly and making a profit is straightforward fraud. We pay extra tax on everything so that companies that deal with waste have a budget to operate.

US has enough deserts where they could somehow store it until they figure out what to do with it. Typical hypocrisy.
Is there any research on how this trash export works? In my country, we either recycle what can be recycled OR it gets burned in specialized furnaces at huge temperatures and good filtering systems. I don't see how sending tons of trash to the other side of the world was profitable. Are there any pictures of huge "container like" ships full of trash sailing to India? Just wondering, maybe I am missing something.
People are not the same their entire life. They evolve. A LOT. Based on their surroundings, habits, and friends. Everything has an impact. Very often, the same defines the type of problems that are generated. Leaving someone just cause they act in a way during a specific life period is selfish IMO.
