If you get picture back, then you have nothing to loose. Worthwhile to try to fix, if either you or someone you know can handle it.
Might just be a loose connection. Try to find a disassembly guide, then apply pressure where the cable is, to verify. Try Ifixit.com
And a double espresso.
Who uses cables today?. Use a wireless power supply. It’s a lot easier.
And. They still work. Tell me how your data of your laptop from 2010 is doing today.
