By allowing an ad on your site, you are trusting the ad agency you are dealing with, everyone they trust, and every one they trust...
To be entirely honest, crypto-ware doesn't scare me too much (I've got good backups), but it could certainly be scary for some.
Sadly, in some cases you don't even need to click. Blocking ads is necessary to make the internet reasonably safe.
I use adblock for security reasons. Ads are a huge security problem. The ad space is constantly resold, so nobody know who's content it is

The point being, it doesn't take much alcohol before my judgement is at least slightly impaired. As the night progresses it gets much worse.
The most noticeable and minor example is that every beer makes me much more likely to buy another. I always swear I'll stop after 3 pints...
Although I've never noticed memory gaps, I've definitely been drunk enough to impair my judgement.
