I get it. Live action route, I personally wish Robin Williams was still alive so he could play the King along with his daughter as Zelda. Now, I would prefer classic 2D cell animation.

No. Zelda doesn’t gender bend. Nintendo officially stated that Sheik is female. Sheik introduces themselves as male as a ruse. That fact aside, I doubt Nintendo would let that happen. They have final say on their film projects to protect their IPs. They’ll do everything to avoid controversy. Could they hire this actor? Probably. Would the media outlets lie and post this to get outrage and clicks? Most likely. I’ll wait for Nintendo to announce the cast like they did with The Super Mario’s Bros.
