One summer job I had was loading transport trailers at a distribution warehouse, I really enjoyed packing stuff fit so it would not move in transit.

While travelling in Argentina with only rudimentary Spanish, locals would often switch to English, some times only marginally better than my Spanish. On one occasion a ranchers English was very good and I remarked on that. His response was "it should be I was born in England".
