One summer job I had was loading transport trailers at a distribution warehouse, I really enjoyed packing stuff fit so it would not move in transit.

2/2 Once people see you as an authority, you can start fabricating any reality or conspiracy theory you want your followers to believe and everyone else is therefore a liar, even in the face of incontrovertible evidence. Basically, it is mental abuse from an early age that suppresses critical thinking skills. This combined with an intentionally weakened public educational system, provides the framework that has spawned this cult of ignorance.

It’s really quite simple, religion has extensively laid the groundwork for generations to train people to believe in authority figures with unverifiable stories instead of science and data. It also primes them for, and is built upon, perpetuating racism and fearmongering towards "others".

Dog owner is right there and has told him not to touch it. We used to put our Hamster on the dogs head and he would react just like that.

While travelling in Argentina with only rudimentary Spanish, locals would often switch to English, some times only marginally better than my Spanish. On one occasion a ranchers English was very good and I remarked on that. His response was "it should be I was born in England".

All cars look similar. I left my wife in the car while I ran in to buy something and when I came out I hopped into the same colour, but wrong car. Freaked out the poor woman sitting in the passenger seat. My car was two more down the row.

Reminds me of one of my dad's comments, "I thought Grape Nuts was a venereal disease."
