Isn't rebooting just a lazy way to make sure that whatever it needs to change isn't in use any more by shutting down EVERYTHING?

Nah. Don't buy stuff from china. Lots of local companies promote their stuff being made with renewable (wind/solar) energy.

If there's thick walls, freezers/fridges etc between the router and you, they might disturb the signal. Place router accordingly. 2/2
Take house blueprints. Highlight the areas you want to be able to use wifi in. Put router in the center of the highlighted area. 1/2
