Was in Northern Alaska last year and I agree. -30F hurts just as much as -45F. It felt like my skin was shrinking whenever we'd go outside.
In business and was able to explain that I was new and didn't know better.
Most penalties (if it's your first time offense) can be waived. I received a 2500$ fine for not filing my taxes every quarter my first year
