When I saw "Sorry to Bother You" it immediately made me think of Brazil. If you haven't seen that one and you're a fan of "Brazil" check it out.

He even puts a back up plan in place.I'm not as familiar with Othello, but it's pretty standard to present the alternative course of action in another character. There would be no play if Othello and Hamlet were switched! Also re the ghost, the ignition fatuus was a common mythology, so not trusting the ghost outright might have been culturally understood.
