@op I had a colleague, who used to be non-communicative as a child, no reading, no learning. Everyone gave up on him except his parents. He grew up, he finished Level 3 accountant apprenticeship, working for the police as accountant. Still has autism, ADHD, dislexia etc but he's a happy grown up person living independently. Never ever give up!
