It greatly depends on the type and amount. weekly/bi-weekly homework that is pretty simple, helps you understand what your child is learning in school and lets you spend more time bonding with them. and im talking about Read a book and write a sentence on what its about, type of weekly homework.
no would agree homework for 6 classes. we are talking about elementary school not high school. higher grade homework is a much different matter.
the system is not going to be fixed overnight. homework helps the parent have a window into their childs learning and can help form stronger bonds. Weekly homework helps with this.

Well paying teachers more does include hiring more teachers. currently in the US its like 1 teacher per 20-30 students only counting elementary. And there are some poorer schools out there. hiring more teachers and paying them well would help more.
