If you can raise your price and still sell products, then I can too. it's perfectly simple supply/demand curve logic.
if you sell a domestically made product for $2.00, and your competitor who imports products is now charging $4.00 to sell his imported goods, then it would be foolish of you to not also raise your prices too because if people are willing to pay $4.00 for a thing, then there is no reason for you not to sell your thing for $4.00 too.
