But I liked him for TFA and it being a rehash of ANH because, as a revival for the franchise and introduction for a new generation of fans, it was a very reasonable decision to make. New stuff for the kids, familiarity for us olds, overall a safe bet. I question the specific narrative choices, but that's a different subject. But even if Disney panicked over Rian's choices, they should've gone with a different director for TLJ, not fled back to Abrams.

Not only was cable pushing the exact same 5 to 15 minute ads every 10 minutes of any given show's runtime, but the tv itself was running banner ads on the bottom, putting advertising watermarks in the corner of the screen, and running picture-in-picture ads during the cable commercials. It's absolutely heinous.
Every now and then I'll check a site or two on my work laptop, as we're not allowed to install any outside software on those, so it has no QOL fixes. I genuinely don't know how anyone can be online without adblockers at the bare minimum. Site format is completely hostile to the point of being unusable and actively interferes with the user's ability to do ANYTHING.
The GOP have burned all of the US' leverage and trust on the global scene. Even in the best case scenario, with ideal leadership and the world eager for a stable US partner, we'll be groveling for scraps at every alliance for decades to come.
