I mean, and because it's That, you'd probably get updoots.
There is a long history of that. It's not new by any means for heavily discriminated against groups to have members that self-report about themselves and others as a means of appeasement to the individuals discriminating against them. You can find examples of this throughout history. Hell, it's literally why we call a someone who betrays you a "Judas".
Oh I dunno, there's lots of other names that I think apply. Paper Nazis, wind-up tyrants, brainless thugs...
Unless and until the actual people committing the offense face ACTUAL consequences, this needs to not go away.
Historically speaking? Yeah, unfortunately.
Historically I agree, but come this next election I don't think that will hold any more. Every atrocity they lose more support of more vets. Off-season elections are also a shockingly good indicator for how vets are voting, because they ALWAYS vote. The fact that the vets vote is reliable. As more vets go blue...it will hurt the Republicans a lot more then they probably expect.
They can do QUITE a lot more, they just don't. That budget bill that "only a few" senators broke the line on? ANY two senators could have put that legislation on hold indefinitely through their own means. Your implication that this is "all" they can do laughable.
Not...as many as you might think. Most all of the vets I know are pretty fucking appalled by all of this shit and you can tell, because these are the people who NEVER get angry. They stay calm, collected, and reasonable. They have been getting more angry and less calm for the past year. The REAL vets, the ones who ACTUALLY fought and ACTUALLY know their shit? Those are the ones who will (and do) stand up for the protestors and the help. It doesn't get talked about a lot, but they are out there.
This is a post about them doing the bare fucking minimum, get your head out of your ass and look around.
That isn't how it works, AT ALL. A tomie is a fail in the house. And yeah, I'll continue to vote for a dem over a Republican every time at the moment, but both fucking parties are corrupt and evil shit bags. They both need to GO, some faster then others, but the entire system is fucked and I'm tired of people who keep pretending like the Dems aren't just as fucking responsible for the atrocities happening right fucking now. They had victory and chose to concede.
Re-living. It wasn't that long ago for some.
It'll still come out before doors of stone...
Oathblades, not shard, probably.
First thing that crossed my mind.

Dunno, historically speaking this seems fairly in line with the vales of the "America First" movement.
There's a thing with fans called static pressure, and if it's high enough it will still do something.

Lol, statistics says people are far more promiscuous now then the 70's, they just aren't quite as loud about it. But as I said the poly thing was an option, I meant that.
I mean, there is the poly option, but... statistically speaking...
Totally fair ๐
Tense and plurality are an example of exactly the kinds of things that do change over time though. Hell, the whole they/them thing freaking people out "because it's plural not singular" was an example of common usage doing the exact opposite until that changed AGAIN. This isn't a shift in slang, which is usually noted AS a slang usage, this is just a thing where as a society we've decided we don't like using die instead of dice when referring to the cube.
Your argument is literally just re-phrasing what I said but saying I'm wrong for calling it a source of truth instead of a photograph. Okay guy, good luck out there ๐
One of the primary functions of dictionaries (not style guides), is to update based on how the language evolves and be a source of truth based on common usage. Those are the "rules" I was referencing. The function of style guides is to provide further clarification and usage examples for those "rules". BOTH agree dice can be used singular, and even suggest it at this point, because the language itself has simply changed. Trying to say the sources of truth is wrong is inane.
They are literally who makes the rules my guy.
