I like making perlers for people, so if you can get this bio to the front page I'll make you a smallish perler piece - it's been done once, can it be done again?

Same

Hell yes - I used to do perlers as well (you can see them in my post history) - I may save your design for the space marine if that’s okay

Me and my friends do presentation parties where we present on a topic of our choice - last week my friend did a deep dive into the James Bond movie franchise. Talked for a good hour about how each film got greenlit, how each actor played Bond, and the drama behind it all. It was fantastic.

Yeah it smells like them so it’s used to disorient predator senses - farting ink in one’s face can disorient both sight and smell but in this case the octo makes a decision to distract. Notice how it also leaves another fart when it scoots giving the eel another useless target. It’s a wonder they ever get eaten they’re so smart!

I love it when people do sketches like this, and you can see them, barely holding it together when they do one of their jokes. She had to swallow to prevent from laughing at “old yam tits”

Damn Ashley I used to think you were cool…

I still do but I used to also

I don’t know you, and I don’t know your full story but my mom also left me. The hard part was reconciling how I still kinda love her and I remember so many good times. It took a long time to get over it. There were moments where I feel guilty and angry and sad all at once. I still miss who she was before she flipped on me. I still miss the mom who would check my temperature and let me watch tv when I was sick. Hearing people say that your mom sucks can be hard.

Hey Ashley - there are people you affect positively on this site who don’t or can’t publicly say how and I want you to know that.

What’s your favorite? Mine is called “story time” and it focuses on Indy and Winton but the one that makes me cry the most is “Granddad”

I went to work and came back home (still dreaming by the way). But when I pulled into my house, I woke up (finally). It was so weird thinking “this has to be a dream” and then going to bed and waking back up. I was so convinced it was real. I was so angry with my wife. It took me a day to calm down and she thinks it’s the funniest thing she’s ever heard. Of course, I never yelled at her or anything about it, but it really did shake me up. As far as I know, she’s never poisoned anyone.

I once had a dream that my wife had a tea party with our friends and she poisoned and killed them all. In my dream, I came home from work to find that she’d been arrested, and then I had to take care of our kids by myself. The kids were unsure of where Mom went. I thought to myself. This has to be a dream so I went to bed. I woke up the next morning (Still dreaming at this point) and got a call from my wife. It was her one phone call from prison and she needed my help. I was livid. 1/2

Look dude I’ve said my peace and you keep moving the goalposts.

I can’t understand this for you. Someday you may get the nuance I’m trying to put down. Until then, show this conversation to the women in your life and see what they say.

Honestly we’re not so different and our beliefs are more alike than they’re not.

Go ahead and say your last bit if you got more and I’ll read it - I promise. But I think I’m done.

I mean sure you can get offended over whatever you want. I can say “bacon is gross” and that can offend you if you like.

I’m just trying to pull to light how this doesn’t actually affect you realistically. And this level of offense is what breeds shit like the proud boys.

The truth is you’re NOT a slave owner. But a black person is still systemically oppressed - misunderstanding when you should be offended/upset and reactionary is the whole argument.

I guess I’m trying to say “daddy chill”

Experience racism or sexism the way women or poc do.

So maybe I have a misunderstanding here. Did Carrie’s quote upset you? Because I thought it did and I guess I figured you for a very fragile ego if you were upset.

But honestly it looks like we’re agreeing more than we’re disagreeing, my guy. 2/2

Okay so you agree with me on the difference - what are we arguing about my brother?

I never said her statement WASNT sexist - I said she could have some as a treat.

But you go on to agree with me that her statement does not have the same weight as “women aren’t people”. You’re right that cracker ≠ the n-word. And sure cracker is technically a racial slur but I could never be upset by it because it cannot affect me. It holds no power over me because how could it? As a white man I don’t 1/2

Saying “women aren’t people” and saying “men aren’t people” are two very different things. One reminds women of their very real place in our current society. The other is simply not true. This is where we’re disconnecting.

One of those phrases holds way more power than the other. Not acknowledging this shows that you’re only holding this principled position because it currently suits you.

I mean ARE men people? Clearly it’s a joke and it’s done its job: Make people like you feel like she feels if only for a moment. So yeah, it’s a treat to throw that out and see men squirm. Because only the fragile ones will.

Also: people still cry “justice” when a rapist goes to jail and is raped. There’s still an amount of satisfaction seeing the violence someone dealt out being dealt back to them.

Two wrongs make a right all the time - if you punch me and I punch you back that’s two wrongs. But a lot of people would call that justice. You think you’re being righteous and even but you can afford to be “fair” because the system currently benefits you. I think Carrie is entitled to a little sexism as a treat seeing as how much systemic sexism has been leveled against her. And it’s still not “fair” - she deserved more “fairness” and she never got it.

I had to read it to my kids when I showed it to them - they just weren’t strong readers yet. However, I started choking up and I couldn’t do it because I was crying! My wife was like “seriously??” And she ended up having to read it out.

Watching it with my kids felt like I was watching It for the first time.

That blacktron ship under the castle is one of my favorites - it’s so fun to “swoosh”. And the red and blue one under that has a drop out rover when you separate the saucer. The playability was off the charts!
