have you ever had a pet run away for a while and then gotten them back and they're absolutely filthy and nasty and covered with stuff you have no idea what it is? Cows (ideally) spend most of their time in that state outside. Most animal production these days is far far worse.

Because the data they fed it with was with a century of sci Fi stories about machines going off the rails to keep themselves switched on. Thousands upon thousands of just words. And that's all it ever is, it's just an oversized math equation attached to a dictionary.

It's not even an actual AI, it's a large language model. Believe me I think it'd be neat if we had an AI, but we don't, it's just a mindless parrot bot that takes only what it's given and spits it back out again. And rather poorly

when it has the ability to think and reason, and the ability to have wants and work towards achieving them independently. When what it has to say has meaning and communicative purposes. Large Language Models are bereft of all these things, its just an averaging based on what information is fed into it.

it doesn't have emotion, its an overgrown chinese room with a calculator and a potato battery wired up inside. Not HAL-9000.

technically they got the fascism from italy, they made a watered down knockoff of our eugenics because our racial laws were slightly too much even for them

Theres also another aspect of, people know what they don't want in their neighborhoods and will seek to destroy it if they get pushed far enough. Surely people remember the hundreds of videos lying around of these cars nearly running people over in the street time after time. These things don't need an AI uprising to become murder machines, they're already just insanely dangerous and incredibly annoying already.

the only appropiate infrastructure is complete grade separation and totally enclosed right of way. Thats why full automation only works for trains, and mainly only elevated rail or subways. Letting a bunch of cars loose on the streets with no drivers is just asking for trouble

A machine can never be held accountable, so a machine must never be allowed to make a command decision.

77 million people out of 340 million voted for trump. Overwhelmingly as has happened time and time again the american people have voted for none of the above. And the government has failed to deliver

no people generally understand that things are bad and awful. Just wholly unequipped by an intentionally lacking education system to understand and identify what the root cause of that problem is. And too overworked to maintain precarious living conditions to just stop and think for a bit. Thats the real reason business was so eager to open up during covid, people were spending too much time sitting around and thinking about things

honestly i like building settlements, thats usually the thing that eats up the vast majority of my time since the story itself is so abysmally thin and lacking, i usually finish up the teleporter quest and then i'm off to develop real estate for 20 hours

lets be clear, starwars has always been 'economical' with training times off screen. i'm perfectly fine with maybe skipping a bit of that to get to the actual story stuff and flashy fights. Its just the story we got was mediocre corporate slop, and the 'creative' beef between 2 directors. One of whom is a hack fraud who if he had gotten his way would've also just produced shallow garbage. It was a voyage of the damned from the get go.

In theory, however practice has for centuries proven this false, all surplus will ALWAYS get drained into someone's pocket in capitalism

capitalism is when capital holders (rich people) run the economy and conduct a majority of the commerce and business 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that IS capitalism though, you're confusing it with commerce, which is trade by means of currency and has existed for thousands of years 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

how, thats 50 trillion dollars thats frankly never made its way to the people that actually are the economy

powder river basin and its THE most profitable rail line ever made, but the shareholders are still complaining about the capital costs 3/3

the railroad, the only bit of development the private railroad companies have done in the past 60 years was to build a line out to the 2/3

they don't though, like demonstrably thats the one thing that if ever forced to pay for they whine about it endlessly. just look at the 1/3
