One of the sad parts about all the suffering they cause is that it won't even bring them joy because inside they are hollow and petty, and they don't build loving, meaningful relationships. All the evil they do is for nothing. They make others' lives worse, and it doesn't even make their lives better.

The point aint to gatekeep dinosauring. It's to learn more about how all this crazy animal stuff works. Embrace ancient animal diversity!

The math log in that panel makes me want to self-detonate. 21 out of 100 (drinking age out of max age I guess) has nothing to do with 15 out of 73.

Yea, I'm pretty sure we never see him stand in the middle of the ocean, only near shore. That meme is nonsense, nonsense I say!

Birds arose in the triassic as part of the diversity of dinosaur types. They're not just descended from dinosaurs. They were and are dinosaurs. Calling them what they are is necessary and helpful for understanding not only birds, but the other dinosaurs, and just generally understanding how evolution and life work. Many things are confusing when first encountered, but coming to understand them is how you learn, you know?

"Four in five US adults (79%) have English literacy skills sufficient to 'Complete tasks that require comparing and contrasting information, paraphrasing, or making low-level inferences," so 21% are not all completely unable to read.

I try to use Empower cause the drivers get all the $ from each ride, just pay monthly to be on the service. Not sure how widespread it is though.

Yes. Except a lot of the benefit of most people's work is siphoned off so that the few (who dictate the system and enforce it through violence) can live better than most without doing work. And that exists in nature too, it's called being a parasite and we're infested with them. Eat the rich!

Enlightenment era debates about this sometimes went to the "best of all possible worlds" conclusion, where this is simply the best world that God can create. Which seems stupid, since omnipotence should mean there is no upper limit on how good a world you can make, and like, damn, is this really the best you could do? Nah, I don't buy it.

I thought that was part of the point. Like even in the modern era, this method was still used even when newer construction technology was available.
