Every gun I've bought at a gun show has run a NICS check... and I'm from Pennsylvania where gun laws are pretty permissive.
Reported mental illness is included in the NICS check when you purchase a gun, so if you have seen a shrink yeah it's in there.
Of course they aren't people are over reacting. Actually for people with insurance nothing is going to change.
I agree, if it is something the nation feels strongly about then there needs to be a constitutional amendment.
