SPAAAAAAAACE! I love rockets, airplanes, spaceplanes, space, and generally anything that goes fast, goes up, or both.
Made from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, so very light indeed. And most of the volume of that cube is sitting in my chip bin...

Not on the Apollo missions. Those guys were all very experienced test pilots with a dabble in science. First scientist flew on Apollo 17
Typically, a single/dual core with high clock speed does better for modeling. A high core count but slower clock are better for simulations.

That purple is just because there is no IR filter on the camera and IR light shows up as a light purple on something that is hot.
check out the U-2 spyplane, the one that flew too high for missiles to reach. Till they just went faster...
I'm guessing it had something to do with temperature management. The plane skin was cooled by fuel to even keep it viable.
The one with the double cockpit is the an SR-71B trainer. No RSO onboard, just dual cockpits for training purposes.
To store water for long desert trips, duh!
