I fought every day of my life for four years trying to make a relationship work with (in retrospect) the single most toxic person I've ever known. Probably because she was my first. It cost me everything I ever owned and literally nearly cost me my life. And I doubt I'll ever heal from the mental scars enough to deserve a second relationship - much as I want to find love, the kind of woman I'd want would also be exactly the kind of woman who would least deserve to bear the pain of my mistakes.
I mean, you can press assault charges, he's an adult. But that wouldn't solve the problem, it would just delay it for as long as it takes the courts to work. Assuming you can find a relatively neutral mediator, and a decently safe location where he can't attack you, try asking why he wants you to leave his mother. It might not work, especially with one so seemingly adamant, but it definitely won't work if you don't try it. Might be the Trekkie in me, but I believe in attempting diplomacy first.
I was actually born in 93 - the movie hit theaters in the summer and my half-sister took me to see it. My birthday isn't until October.
