Eh, those never bothered me as much because it was Takahashi's comedy roots showing through. Didn't necessarily help the tone, and it's very dated and problematic, but the intent was comic relief.Everything about Kikyo I found harder to ignore because it was supposed to be at the heart of the romance and drama.
Inuyasha was so obsessed with Kikyo that, after she died, he got into a love triangle with the middle schooler who had her reincarnated soul and the zombie who was made from her flesh.Y'know, as one does.
It always warms my heart to see your posts, because I lost my big lug of a german shepherd who was also named Atlas two years ago. And his sister followed the year after. Getting reminded of them is bittersweet, but it also makes it feel like they're still here, in a way.
And the rest of us get to be cards, discarded on a whim if they don't like their hand.
At this point, the stock market is basically just high stakes gambling with worse oversight. They barely even bother with excuses like benefiting consumers or supporting industries. It's all about rich people getting richer by betting on whether other rich people will be getting rich or not.
I've seen some disputes of it, but... yeah, I've seen it happen! And each time it was less in the context of "I'm the big dog here and you must respect my authority" and more just "hey, you're being a little shit right now, knock it off."
For the humpers, based on my own pet experience... I see two likely reasons:- They're very "into" this game. It's riled them up, and they're eager to join in, so much so that simply throwing a paw in isn't enough.- Asserting dominance, like saying "don't do that" without resorting to biting. I've seen it between friendlier dogs ("I'm your senior and I need you to calm down") and less friendly ones ("I will let you live in my neigherbood, but stay the hell away from my family's yard").
Looked it up, and while the suicide rates are some hair-raising stuff, I'm not sure how I see the apocalyptic damage to our environment would be making that worse--Wait, no. Now that I've typed it out, I can see the connection.
Safety regulations are written in blood. This is one official who won't be easily bribed.
... not even a minute after I post this comment, and I realize -- yeah, I'm saying the color would probably be on the spectrum.
Wondering if ADHD would give me a chimeric fusion of different swords, to best represent not staying focused on one goddamn idea at a time.
He calls out Democrats by saying they're selling their souls to zionism and imperialism, and not committing to a purpose, and his advice is... to follow the example of the Republicans, who will sell their souls with less hesitation because it helps them accomplish evil?
So we've got this door to the underworld in Siberia, we've got the doomsday glacier in Antarctica... what else? I'm sure there's others.
Yup. Tech created its own worst nightmare, because this field is infested with opportunists who care more about The Product than how any of this technology works or what the risks are. So even when we say "hey, this doesn't work as well as you think, and also is a huge data security risk, and also is creating a mountain of tech debt" they won't listen, because clearly we are just cowards who don't understand how to make money.
All devs should unionize. Game devs especially, but heads are rolling everywhere in tech, and we're all learning the hard lesson that a white collar isn't any safer than a blue collar.
Previous job had these kinds of requirements. I took a Mad Libs approach to my paraphrase, swapping out certain words with ones that were more seasonally relevant (and increasingly nonsensical).

TBF, slinging is his comfort zone, and this administration has so many more targets than "debt is soooooooooooo big", "stupid dems think left is good", and "true americans are bigoted (just like me)".
If it helps, I also didn't notice "WAMPAKU SAND" until you pointed it out.
I think the mini-menu is also in Japan? I spy katakana underneath each one.
You know what, that's fair. Maybe not as much evil as the wizards used it for, but they would absolutely use it for evil.
Different dogs treat their toys different ways! Growing up, we had two dogs who preferred cuddling stuffed toys over destroying them -- but we only learned this after our rottweiler, destroyer of all toys, passed on.
"Power corrupts" is at the heart of the stories, so... yeah I'd say you're reading correctly. After all, it's why the hero had to be someone who was otherwise too powerless to corrupt.I mean, can you imagine if a hobbit got their hands on the palantir? What would they even do with it? Maybe spy on the neighbors, or keep surveillance over their garden.
Yup, which is also why they aren't accountable to actually help. An unborn fetus isn't going to turn to them and ask for, say, universal healthcare to ensure its own quality of life. And the mother might, but -- she's the *problem*, isn't she?
It's a multifaceted thing. Controlling and harming women is a big part of it. Another is because it allows them to claim a moral superiority while not actually being held accountable to help anyone.
I mean, I'm not gonna mourn but -- we've gotta save the celebratory champagne for the big one, right?
Our DM will sometimes describe a completely unrelated thing that our character got distracted by. Said DM is also my husband, and has to deal with my ADHD on a regular basis...
Yes, white texting. Supposedly the algorithms were updated to either ignore or even penalize it. Hard to say for sure, but I don't have the luxury of testing.
The screening process is godawful. l've had to deal with getting laid off twice since 2023, and despite having a nice solid resume of actual experience, recruiters would constantly suggest I lie and throw in other things just to get through screening. One even gave me a giant bulleted list of "skills" and told me to add it as an extra page to my resume...
Right at the base of the spine? I've had both cats and dogs who love getting scratched there. I feel like the tail moving around must make the fur rub together and get itchy.
