All that effort worrying violent video games and rock music was corrupting the youth and they never suspected podcasts would be actual thing to do so.
It's kind of ironic that parents were worried that rock music, or violent video games would corrupt the youth but overlooked podcasts.

Snoop dog is cool but he will endorse anything or product if they give him enough money. I can respect his hustle but just look up list of stuff Snoop Dogg and there's no way he uses any of them.

Sure, but to be honest it probably does more harm then good since you're driving traffic to the site and cause it to show up on recommened in geo-recommdations.
If you actually read the article none of the things actually cost money. They just consider it a lose because it keeps them from making money.
That doesn't cause any issues for on-line stores. When articles say that abandoned shopping carts cost companies money it means people fill their cart to try to buy something, run in to an issue that makes them give up and the bean counters say that this is lost money.
