ive had the same exotank printer/scanner for I want to say 7 years and it still works fine. tends to wake up in the middle of the night, make a bunch of noise, and then go back to sleep as if nothing happened.

She would actively encourage my piracy and let me upgrade the ram on the Z64 and later on modify it to use a hard drive. She would also let me order spools of the highest quality CD-Rs from the best manufacturers as the PS1 was picky about using just any off the shelf ones. Not to mention the significant outlay for the CD-R drive with buffer under-run protection to avoid wasting the precious more expensive media. My mom was thrifty in a very awesome way.

In high school, my house was where a lot of the latchkey kids gravitated to after school and I had 2 virtual boys and almost every game for each of them for under maybe $200 on clearance and it was always the most popular thing to play next to the N64 with nearly every game on a Mr. Backup Z64. I also had a sizeable sega CD and 32x library, along with 3DO all from clearance sales and a Playstation 1 modded to play CD-Rs. My mom was a smart cookie and she knew a good value when she saw one.

Just got done watching it. Actually enjoyed the movie but goddamn if it wasn't one of the most annoying LOUD quiet LOUD quiet movies in recent memory. I absolutely hate having to raise and lower my volume every 3 minutes to alternately either hear the dialogue or not get blasted out of the room.

i really wish people could understand that my functionality takes everything I have to give and more, is not indicative of the severity of my mental illness, and is not sustainable. it's not a good time living in my head. I am very unkind to myself.

Would. Oh yes. Definitely.

all I really want is to get some really heavy and disturbing shit off my chest and have the opportunity to re/process it without traumatizing someone else who doesn't have the tools to deal with it and their own therapist.

my cat takes his water in the sink, in a flat tray because he will flip it over or try to flip it over every time and I got tired of getting a wet foot in the night.

a LOT of the telemarketed gadgets where you see a person fumbling wildly with a simple task were originally intended for disabled people. somebody realized there was a lot of money to be made marketing to the generally inept as well.

tried three therapists and they would only talk about what was immediately bothering me or CBT or exposure for anxiety. none of them would touch my past trauma with a ten foot pole. I understand that you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube but I've been living with it my whole life and talking about it isn't going to make it worse.

playing video games out in the hallway, in front of my door, banging on it and muttering gibberish?

Oh no, I'm not ok, but that is for multiple compounding reasons in addition to this particular problem. I didn't work today but the neighbor was at it at 7 this morning (actually later than normal) and so I've been awake and I really don't want to be. I have earplugs but my brain is attuned and vigilant so I haven't been able to get a decent nights sleep in a while.

probably one of the cheapest in town. besides the neighbor it's actually not bad. maintenance gets done, temp is pretty reasonable in the winter, landlord lets you pay on your paydays. my only other complaint is that it flooded last spring when the ground was saturated from melting snow and rain storms. they'd have to dig up the side of the building to fix that though so im not holding my breath.

In my state, the law very heavily favors the landlord. For instance, at my last apartment building had boiler heat and the boiler broke in the middle of winter. A number of residents tried to keep rent in escrow until it was fixed but a judge ruled that the state law said they only had to provide a "reasonable temperature" and that 52 degrees inside was just fine. In fact the state legislature just killed a bill to change that law.

There is something like that in my lease. I'll have to look into it. So far the landlord has been of the opinion that there is nothing he can do about it. My guess is he would sooner evict me for rocking the boat than give up the guaranteed income from housing or whatever type of assistance pays the guys rent.

if he ever does any property damage that can be linked back to him I imagine they will show up with an APC and a task force.

the landlord did say he was on meds around the time he moved in and he was fine for the first few months, but it didn't last long. you are right though. imagine what happens when Medicaid and veterans benefits get cut off. a lot of people will become a danger to themselves and others I suspect.

I tried 211 and they said that he doesn't qualify as a vulnerable adult because he is living on his own and isn't being abused or neglected. Only option they gave is to keep calling the police. I imagine if there is some provable destruction of property the cops would be on it pronto but so far nothing anyone can stick on him.
