I watch SVU because it’s entertaining but I also take it with a grain of salt. The main characters on the show often violate the suspects basic rights for “the greater good” and are always portrayed as being morally correct when they do so. When other cops are the bad guys, they’re rogue agents that the system doesn’t support, rather than it being a systematic problem. And since it’s a tv show, their rate of unambiguously justified conviction with closure is unrealistically high.
