A government employee who knowingly misleads or misrepresents the facts of a citizenship application would be guilty of a federal crime.

That is state dept policy but in the US a court can’t dismiss a case by saying “it doesn’t matter if she was a citizen, she isn’t now”...
That’s definitely not how we would want the citizenship process to work.But it seems like the dept had decided she qualified 4 brcitizenship
