My mom died of cancer at 40 and her biggest gift to us was letters of encouragement. Write out your hopes and dreams for the kids and tell them it’s ok if those hopes and dreams change. If you can do it, record yourself reading it. I wish I had my mom’s voice on a recording. Best wishes dude. So sorry.
