Sorry, my comment was probably coming out stronger than I meant it.

Well, sometimes you can laugh at that too. Or analyze the joke into its constituent parts and build them up into a new and better joke you can use on your next go around :D

This is a half truth. In reality, we have so much in abundance of food that we could solve world hunger. At the same time, it's probably not feasible for everyone to have a car, but public transportation helps a great deal. It should be feasible for everyone to have a home, at least at one with necessities such as water, power and plumbing. Basically necessities should be feasible to do for most, going from that to comfortable is much easier.

How did he do that?!

Nothing to be sad about, that's a great one to be, probably my favourite of the bunch and I think many would agree. I'd probably be a half mash between #16 and #31 , not sure how fitting it is but I'd call it "Ranger" since it's the class I like most.

This is a pretty reductionistic and cynical comment I have to say, and I'm starting to see more and more og those. They aren't any helpful, even if you disagree with her choices or religion as a whole. This is pretty much how the far right communicates

The surface meaning is "cool". The deeper meaning is someone solid in their foundation.

I agree with you, but this is something you find in politics and various mediums too, just look at how fragmented the left has been for a good while before the UK and French elections this year. It's a human weakness to other your siblings, and I feel this picture is at least one remedy to that in earnest.

Muslims don't believe that good hearted Jews or Christians to be going to hell, in fact the Quran acknowledges them among the believers. https://quran.com/2/62 In fact, you aren't guaranteed heaven or hell by calling yourself Jew, Christian or Muslim at all in the first place, but someone who's not necessarily either but faces God having done good in life is promised their reward https://quran.com/2/111-112

The game industry right now is being hit by record layoffs and takeovers then shutdowns, and it's not because the industry is struggling financially but because since covid, more of the financial sector has eyed it as a means of investment. This has been horrible for both games but especially workers in the industry, I wouldn't put much stock in AAA games now especially

I'm sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace. I hope that the best parts of her stays with you in a way that will comfort you.

This is a very poignant statement, but I think despite the broad language fitting, I don't think Carl Sagan really thought of the future quite like we see it today and it reflects from the way he writes. In reality, what you see today is a culmination of what still happened back then, and the extremeties you see are people seperating on those issues for better and worse. People lived in simpler but darker times back then, it was just not apparent that it would lead to this.

How did you find her? Did you just stumble in to her on the street and started yelling Everquest in unison?

The Danish constitution day isn't even a vocational holiday here in Denmark. All of this to say that we, the Danes, are even MORE lacking in effort when it comes to our national day.

As a kid, I was deeply ashamed of the idea of walking into school with a bright yellow and white backpack with a vanilla flower print on the front. Then I got into it, especially since the backpack had so much room and felt so baggy which was pretty different back then. Had I had my way, I would've probably just had yet another black innocuous one. I'm not sure what happened to that vanilla backpack.

The first bit means "On the Dal'ouna, on the Dal'ouna". Dal'ouna is originally an arabic dance circle where people dance shoulder to shoulder, but I think the meaning today could also mean dance floor. It's a pretty typical start to Lebanese/Palestinian/Syrian folk songs. Then it goes "The love for the east changes the color. And the east has changed the way I am/feel. Promise this for me, the tan/brown color". It's likely a song made on the fly using the "On the Dal'ouna" folk song as template.

For someone used to "do re mi fa so", diatonic notes, yes it's difficult. But For someone who's used to it it's second nature. Mostly you don't really hit every tone perfectly, you just hit the major beats (like you would do with diatonic music) and then any microtone variation you naturally let veer off by those as you go from beat to beat. So instead of "do re mi" think "duouwo reyaye mieya", kinda like that

Just tell him you had to save manually back then, give him a floppy disk and then walk away without another word.
