Social media is a big one too. Go back a few months/years into their facebook or whatever and see what insanity they've been posting, if any. I had a local election recently and doing that was what saved me from voting for a Moms for Liberty nut for school board. She didn't scrub her social media very well and I imagine most don't.
If you've been to a Walmart at all, and especially during covid you've seen what many adults are like, and they sure ain't writing an opera or even wiping correctly. Kids have the capacity to be emotionally intelligent once in a while just like an adult has the capacity to be a massive, selfish dipshit easily mentally outclassed by a 6 year old.
They're still talking about the effect they want from the pay changes to be a decrease in the amount of stupid laws being created. That makes it fewer, not less. I'm not even sure "less laws" can ever be grammatically correct, but someone who knows more about that can weigh in there.
Nah. Some things are so blatantly inoffensive it doesn't matter who sees it. If a parent is upset for a teacher basically showing The Lego Movie in class then that parent should be ignored. Or at least made happy with a coupon or something. It's completely absurd that this is even a discussion
The issue is that some take those with discriminatory views seriously. Like somehow finding someone's existence offensive for not fitting gender norms is rational. It's not. There's a reason accepting other people for their differences is a message in basically every movie, TV show, or storytelling medium ever. Until recently it was a universally accepted positive thing
As long as the book is coming from a place of tolerance and acceptance and is age appropriate then yes. It's no different than putting on Dumbo or Finding Nemo. Teaching kids to be tolerant of others differences is not controversial even if it happens to be on gender identity.

No, 99% of people will not have to deal with an assailant, who is unknown to them, try to attack them in their house using social engineering like package delivery. Random murders like that are vanishingly rare, and a burglar is more likely to avoid a confrontation altogether.
This clearly isn't a normal self defense class. This is training for a very specific situation that will never happen to 99% of people, because this isn't John Wick.
