Imo, Army Corps of Engineers should have control over more projects. It’s one of the jobs of their branch and yet very rarely these days they are involved in new domestic construction.

If we’re building, what are in essence, Federal Prisons…then Federal sources should be used. See how quickly the Army has to find replacements to intern their own and realise the administration has got to go.

Anything can be built quickly. But if you want it to code, cheap, and/or long lasting then it takes longer. Oh, and being US contractors. Japan was able to do a metro project in a single night, yet it takes months to even years to finish one road repair project for a single block…

Left out arguably the best one of “Privates! We have reports of an unidentified flying object. It has a long, smooth shaft, complete with…”

Can confirm. Twice we had a customer have a seizure and manager said keep serving customers rather than help. First incident there was a RN so it wasn’t bad but second one I jumped over the counter to help and got written up for abandoning post.

The song is catchy though…probably one of the better propaganda cartoons they did which wasn’t too racist

I like riding the local steam engine. Sure it’s slow and breaks down every year but…TRAIN

Shareholder reports are the biggest contributor. When the only thing they can think of to keep big number up is cutting essential personnel that aren’t upper management even if it will fuck them over. Happened to me last year after company had a 700%+ increase in profit. No raises for non-management, sacked anyone who spoke out, terminated entire Hr department. Now they can’t even staff anything and are going under but who could have seen this coming!?

You can only tie the record for low flight /s

What’s even more astonishing was previous job I worked for had an average of six or more years per non-manager employee before you would see a raise. Then the raise was single digits in dollar on a Salary position. Meanwhile Managers got a mandatory 5% every quarter increase and annual bonuses. Expected to work 120 hours ob 45k/yr

Place I work for has it documented. They refuse cash tips for this reason. Tips are also sent in a second pay stub each cycle so you 100% know what is reported as additional income and it’s pre-taxed anyway.

What’s annoying is what you get paid can’t even buy you a meal at the same establishment in a single hour. You would need to work almost four hours to afford a proper meal at base pay then they hype up a 5 cent raise as a major victory they fought hard for.

Because they would half the amount of labour, reduce the billable hours, increase the prices and rake in the difference while complaining they can’t make ends meet and get a subsidy. Almost every company I have worked for regardless if it was brick and mortar or corporate banking and cybersecurity function this way. Previous employer cut its HR department because outsourcing was cheaper and laid off employees for no reason so they could appease share holders with continued profit graphs.

I got fired for showing up too early as a reason because the AM disliked me for calling out her bullshit. The complaint was literally: “You distract the managers because they think you’re on duty”. Literally in employee parking lot waiting until five minutes nowhere in line of sight and not in customer parking area. You literally have to be in the loading dock to see me.

Plot twist: it’s actually to counteract the stress

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I started when I was 15 and consistently was told to stay longer than 8 hours, stay past 2200, and was forcibly detained by management to stay during inventory counts which generally ran longer than 16 hours during school days to the point I would miss school because it had already started the next day. Pay was consistently rolled over for minorities if they were bad at English. Breaks were incentivised to not be taken. This was at Bestbuy in 2009.

My experience was if you even brought it up but didn’t use it you would already be subject for potential disciplinary action and/or have shifts removed/given exceptionally bad ones like night into morning and a double.

Trader Joes and Target as well

I really enjoyed the environmental aspect. I thought they nailed the aesthetics very well though it wasn't really like the previous titles which were more horror themed.

It wasn’t just tanks, or German specific. Many vehicles, especially aircraft required the same type of start. Bombers especially for their engines. In many cases, tanks would be kept in idle because you didn’t want to risk having to start up, especially in winter. Even today, we have some vehicles that require alternative start ups. Some US heavy bombers use explosive ordnance to rapid start engines because otherwise it takes 10-30min to warm it up or less than a minute with a charge.

I still remember when most stores had nickel candies, gas was still in the dollar range and movie tickets during matinee was 3-5 dollars. McDonalds could have an entire meal for less than 4 bucks. This was during the 90s.

I do, then I immediately get counter spelled or silenced or knocked Unconscious and sit out the rest of combat because no fun allowed.

Wait until you hear about how many chains deliberately lower wages even further under the justification that "tips will make you more", which then tend to go at a percentage rate to the salary manager or store owner instead. Or better yet, how Panera Bread blatantly bribed officials to get an exception clause for bakeries not having to raise their minimum wage.

Yes and no. Some countries (generalised) like Germany have much stricter ethics during working hours. When you cut out the small talk and actually focus on the job, you need less hours a day and less days in the week. It’s a group effort though and not something many cultures can do. In the US, our standard originates from agriculture where you worked dix days a week from sun up to down. It wasn’t until post Civil War that faded which was barely 150 years ago.

Worked for jobs that will do that in a heartbeat. No matter what you bring or offer, the one time you don’t perform to their metric you’re gone. This is “right to work” in the US and what most states have. Even more states have little to no labor protection.

I was on the couldn’t be afforded part but they paid a severance package with an anti-lawsuit attached. Was working close to 100hrs/week so took the money and left to go back to school and work part time instead where I’m not being worked to death for somehow almost minimum wage in a Senior Analyst position (55k/yr in NoVA when avg is 130k+). Only took it at time because four years prior I had no experience and received zero promotions/merit increase

Company I worked for fired most of the female staff claiming they couldn’t afford it. Axed the entire Hr department to outsource it. Got rid of any officers who didn’t agree then laid off half the company claiming they couldn’t afford after announcing a 800%+ profit in one quarter than entire year before. Immediately turned and hired more incompetent staff at lower wages but double CEO salary.

For those who don't know: you add the raw value of all numbered cards, +2/Skip/Reverse are worth 20 pts, Wilds and +4 are 50 pts, and Wild Swap Hands/Custom Cards are worth 40 pts (these were later added to the game but are not part of an original deck). You receive an extra 50 pts for ending the game with the Wild Card. Also, playing a +4 Card is illegal if you have other valid cards to play. The opponent may challenge you to reveal your hand, and if they are wrong, they draw six instead.
