Well is it necessary to have gender identity pronouns? I've gone my life without them no problem. Why would you insist in having them?
I can't speak for others, I don't know why people don't want to do that, but I just proposed a fix that forces the situation to change...
You don't have to modify entire language, just change 1 or 2 words. Languages are always evolving anyway, why not do it intentionally?
in my country we have unisex pronoun, only one. Maybe try that?
